First Local Planning Committee Meeting for New York Forward on May 30

The Village of Phoenix New York Forward (NY Forward) Local Planning Committee (LPC) members are finalized. The LPC is the Steering Committee for the NY Forward planning process, and is comprised of representatives from local businesses, community groups, non-profits, social and public service organizations, and others who can represent the variety of interests in Phoenix.

The LPC is Co-Chaired by Mayor Brian Borchik and Austin Wheelock, Executive Director of Operation Oswego County.
Over the next 6-7 months, LPC members will work with Stantec, the State’s planning consultant, by: providing input and feedback on the community vision for downtown, goals, and revitalization strategies; reviewing planning products; and ultimately, recommending potential projects for State funding consideration. LPC members will also assist with community engagement by guiding the public engagement approach and helping to reach out to various constituencies, so all voices are heard during the planning process.

The first LPC meeting will be Tuesday, May 30 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at White Pine Commons (61 Davis Street). LPC meetings are open to the public to observe. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend and a 15-minute public comment period will be provided at the end.

The committee members are as follows:

  • Mayor Brian Borchik – Co-Chair
  • Austin Wheelock, Operation Oswego County – Co-Chair
